Buck Rogers in the 25th Century is an American science fiction adventure television series and ran for two seasons from 1979-1981.  The year is 1987 NASA launches the last of America’s deep space probes,  in a freak mishap Ranger 3 and its pilot Captain William Buck Rogers (Gil Gerard) are blown out of their trajectory into an orbit which freezes his life support system and returns Buck Rogers to Earth 500 years later.  The year is 2491  Earth has been rebuilt following a devastating nuclear war and is now under the protection of the Earth Defense Directorate.  The Earth’s Defense Directorate is headed by Dr Elias Huer (Tim O Connor) and Earth’s  defense forces are commanded by Colonel Wilma Deering (Erin Gray).  Season one  follows Buck as he tries to fit into 25th Century culture and to come to terms with the fact that he has lost everyone he ever loved and knew.  Buck is assigned an ambuquad Twiki (Felix Silla) and voiced by Mel Blanc to help him with life in the 25th Century they are great friends and buck even taught Twiki some 20th Century catchphrase’s.  Dr Theopolis voiced by Eric Server is a sentient computer who is part of Earth’s Computer Council and one of the planet’s scientific leaders, he is carried around by Twiki who would attach Dr Theopolis to his chest.  The series villain is Princess Ardala (Pamela Hensley) whose goal was to conquer the Earth,  she was aided by her henchman Kane (Michael Ansara).  Civilization on Earth is restricted to a few cities,  travel beyond these city’s is hazardous as much of the planet is  radioactive wasteland inhabited by violent mutants. more…

24 is presented in real time with each season depicting a 24-hour period in the life of Jack Bauer (Kiefer Sutherland) who works with the US government as it fights terrorist threats. Bauer is often in the field for the Los Angeles Counter Terrorist Unit (CTU) as they try to safeguard the nation from terrorist threats. The show follows Jack Bauer’s actions throughout the show and the actions of other CTU agents, government officials and terrorists associated with the plot. The first six seasons of the show were all based in Los Angeles and nearby locations some real and some fictional in California, although from time to time other locations have been featured as well most notably Washington DC where a portion of the episodes took place during the fourth and sixth seasons. Departing from tradition the seventh season is set primarily in Washington DC. The seventh season began with a two-hour spacial (titled 24: Redemption) set forty two months after season six and outlines the story for season seven.

Real time

24 is a is shown in real time with each minute of airtime corresponding to a minute in the lives of the characters. Commercial breaks are placed at times when something non essential is taking place, this allows for the show to actually occur in real time without compromising action the real time clock of the show continues to tick during the commercials, emphasizing the reality of the 24 hours of the season. 24 does not use slow motion even on moments of rapid action or sleight of hand. The shows actual run time is between 42 and 44 minutes without commercial breaks. If watched continuously, each season would take approximately 17 hours to finish the real-time nature is shown by an on screen digital clock appearing before and after each commercial break with a distinct beeping noise for each second. The action switches between different locations tracing parallel adventures of different characters involved in the same plot. more…

The A-Team is an action adventure TV series about an ex military Special Forces team on the run from the military for a crime they didn’t commit. The team offer themselves as soldiers of fortune helping those in need of help and also who have no one else to turn to for help.  The team includes Col John Hannibal Smith (George Peppard) the teams leader and whose plans tend to be unusual but effective.  Lt  Templeton Faceman Peck (Dirk Benedict) is a smooth talking con man and ladies man and also con’s vehicles and other useful items out of people for the team to use.  Capt. H M Howling Mad Murdock (Dwight Schultz) is the teams pilot and resides in a mental institution after being declared insane.  Sgt B A Baracus (MrT) is the team’s strong man and mechanic he can also make just about any contraption the team requires to escape the situation their in.  Throughout the series the team is constantly persuade by the military police led by Colonel Lynch (William Lucking) then it was Colonel Decker (Lance LeGault) and his aide Captain Crane (Carl Franklin) then Colonel Briggs (Charles Napier) and finally General Harlan Bull Fullbright (Jack Ging).  In the final season we were  introduced to General Hunt Stockwell (Robert Vaughn) a former spy who captured The A Team and forced them to work for him,  he is often assisted by Carla (Judith Ledford) his assistant. more…

tihcreditsThe Incredible Hulk is an American television series based on the Marvel comic book character of the same name. Doctor David Banner (Bill Bixby) is a physician and scientist who is traumatized by the death of his wife Laura in a car accident. Haunted by his inability to save her Banner studies incidents where ordinary people have summoned superhuman strength in order to save their threatened loved ones. His conclusions lead him to high levels of gamma radiation from sunspots are the cause, he decides to test his theory out on himself. He bombards his own body with gamma radiation not knowing that the equipment had been upgraded causing him to administer a far higher dose than he intended. That night on his way home he gets a flat tyre and injures himself while trying to change it the anger from the pain triggers his first transformation into the Hulk (Lou Ferrigno) the first sign of which is Banner’s eyes turning greenish white which starts a metamorphosis into the Hulk. The Hulk destroys Banner’s car and wanders all night, Once calm he eventually transforms back into Banner who has no memory of last night’s events realizing he’s injured he seeks out his research partner Dr Elaina Marks (Susan Sullivan) and tells everything he can remember including bombarding  himself with gamma rays. Dr Banner and Dr Marks try to reverse the process but there’s a problem a reporter named Jack McGee (Jack Colvin) is asking a lot of questions about their work. McGee is asking Dr Banner some questions outside the lab when the laboratory explodes, Banner goes into the building to searching for Dr Marks who was inside when it exploded and during his search transforms into the Hulk, who carries Dr Marks away from the inferno but she soon dies from the injuries she sustained in the explosion. McGee witnesses the Hulk carrying her away and believes he is the one responsible for the fire and deaths of both Dr Banner and Dr Marks. With Banner now presumed dead he goes into hiding to try and find a cure for his condition, he drifts from place to place assuming different identities and odd jobs to support himself and his research in the hopes of finding a cure. Meanwhile McGee continues to pursue the story of the mysterious monster, whom he believes got away with a double murder. more…

The series ran from 1984-1987 and was about a highly advanced military helicopter code named Airwolf and her crew as they undertook various missions.  The series follows Stringfellow Hawke (Jan-Michael Vincent) a Vietnam vet and brilliant pilot,  he lives alone in a cabin in the mountains with his dog Tet a Bluetick Coonhound.  Hawke is a recluse spending his time alone with his priceless collection of paintings and serenading eagles with his Stradivarius cello.  His only real friend is Dominic Santini (Ernest Borgnine) owner of Santini Air a charter service founded and owned by Santini that specializes in performing aerial stunts for Hollywood film productions.  Hawke is visited by Archangel (Alex Cord) the leader of the Firm that built Airwolf and asked to steal it back,  it was taken by its creator Doctor Charles Henry Moffet (David Hemmings) to Libya.  Hawke recovers Airwolf  from Libya but chooses not to return it to the Firm Instead Hawke and Santini hide Airwolf in the remote Valley of the Gods,  he will  only return it if the Firm can find his brother St. John (pronounced Sin-jin) who has been missing in action since Vietnam.  Archangel agrees in exchange for  Hawke and Santini flying missions of national importance for the Firm. more…

knight-rider1Knight Rider is an American television series that ran from 1982-1986 with David Hasselhoff as (Michael Knight) in the lead role as a modern day knight fighting crime.  Police officer Michael Long is nearly killed by a shot to the face and left for dead, rescued by billionaire Wilton Knight Michael is given reconstructive  surgery,  a new identity and a new name Michael Knight.  Michael was chosen by Wilton Knight to be the pilot in his new program the Foundation for Law and Government the other half of this pilot program is the Knight Industries Two Thousand (KITT) a Pontiac Trans Am with an artificial intelligence Computer on board.  Michael and KITT are brought in when a more direct approach is needed,  heading the Foundation for Law and Government for Wilton Knight is Devon Miles (Edward Mulhare) who provides Michael with directives and guidance,  Dr Bonnie Barstow (Patricia McPherson) is the chief engineer in charge of KITT’s care. more…
